GRM EDM - Accounts Payable/Receivable

GRM's digital division, GRM EDM's business process solutions will streamline the way your company functions from the inside out - increasing productivity, decreasing waste and maximizing the amount of time your employees can spend on important matters.

Introducing electronic document management into your accounts payable/receivable department will completely change the way your companies cash flow is managed. Organizations and companies who opt to handle these departments with more traditional hard-copy records storage and management lose (on average) literally thousands of hours each year due to inefficient practices like manually entering data into a system, sifting through file folders and recovering from human error. EDM eliminates all three of these issues.

Improved Document Workflow in Medicine

AdvanceWeb.com has an excellent piece on their website on the nature of electronic record management in the medical field and how it relates to improved productivity and document workflow. The author addresses many of the major types of records handled in the medical field, including, physicians notes, notification and audits; as well as highlighting important actions like quick review of stored documents and overall organization. This is a must read for those of you who already work in the medical field or are interested in expanding into Electronic Medical Records Management.

From AdvanceWeb:

Document workflow is utilizing a set of automated and interactive tools within a document management (DM) or electronic medical record (EMR) platform to complete a business process. These tools include, but are not limited to, document capture and presentation, mark-up, notification, audit, organization and delivery. These tools include both pre-set and ad-hoc workflows and can be simple or complex, depending on expectations and supporting applications. For example, a document is automatically captured and users notified of new tasks. Documents are presented to specific users via a network or browser application or delivered via e-mail. Once signed or marked-up, the related document data, or meta-data, are automatically interfaced to other applications where external processes are launched.

Fundamental Lack of Understanding in Info Management Field

AIIM put out a press release last week discussing the basic lack of comprehension of what actually makes up a comprehensive records and document management program. The release focuses on a recent study, which found that more than 60% of those interviewed were "very confident" that their management programs were up to snuff. Unfortunately, AIIM experts believe that the reason that number is so high is because companies are actually under-informed. Midway through the release John Mancini, the president of AIIM provides questions businesses should be asking themselves. They include:

1. Is your organization able to handle the explosion of digital information? Does the continuing influx of information make your organization less and less effective?

2. Can your employees find information when they need it - in the daily course of business, as well as when an emergency or more urgent event occurs?

3. Can your employees collaborate on projects no matter where they are located in the world, to take advantage of trends towards work spread across the globe, and workers that are at home or on the road 90% of the time?

4. Has your ability to document what your organization did, why you did it, who did it, and when they did it gotten better or worse in the past 5 years?

5. Can your customers find information when they need it? Or are they abandoning your organization for a competitor who outstrips your ability to provide the information they need?
